An Enchanting Yoga Portrait Session with Lindsay Mooney | Brittany Lynn Imagery LLC

This epic session was planned months in advance and once it finally happened, Lindsay and I were sure that the universe was rewarding us for finally coming together!

Back in November, Lindsay made a post on social media looking for a photographer to take "some cool photos of [her] doing bendy things" and you already know I was all over that! Someone tagged me in the post so I responded and we ended up adding eachother on Facebook and chatting off and on about how excited we both were to not only get together for the session but just to meet in general.

We made a plan for this past Sunday at the start of Golden Hour but as the day approached, storms were popping up on the radar and it was looking like it could get dangerous so we moved the session up an hour, got ready, and headed to Busch Wildlife. One of the last things she said to me before our session was "it's going to be perfect. I can feel it!" and she was spot on! My vague plan was to stop at three locations: Dardenne Creek, The Pine Trail, and then the Weldon Spring Site, but if you've ever worked with me before, you know that spontaneity is my thing and we actually stopped at two additional spots because the lighting that day was phenomenal!

We met at the parking lot by the creek and walked down together. It was awesome just walking through the woods and chatting with Lindsay because we had never met in real life and she was a ball of light - so sweet and passionate - and I was incredibly excited to work with her!

After shooting at the creek for a few minutes, we made our way back to the parking lot. It began to rain but neither of us was really phased by it so we continued to the next location within the park, business as usual. As we were driving, I noticed that the sky was clearing and it was still raining behind us but there were breaks in the clouds that were letting the most magnificent, warm lighting through so the first clearing we came to, I pulled over.

We scouted this spot for about a minute, got situated, and then it happened.

Lindsay was getting into her pose and I finally got my settings where I wanted them so I put the camera to my face and saw the most tall and beautiful rainbow I have seen since I can remember. I squealed and we both became outrageously excited!

Of course, when there is a rainbow in your images, there's not a lot you really need to do for them to be incredible but Lindsay chose the most stunning poses to compliment this amazing gift from Mother Nature and I was honored to be a part of such a stunning experience!

Once we were happy with our photos and ready to move on, we hopped back in our cars and headed to The Pine Trail. We made one more stop before we finally made it to the trail, capturing some incredible images with the sun now that it was coming back out to play, and ended our time at Busch Wildlife with some back bends in the pines.

Our next location, the Weldon Spring site, was roughly ten minutes away and we were losing light so once we arrived safely, we hurried up that monster of a hill and stopped off about three quarters of the way up. At this point, the sun was setting quickly and there was lightning off in the distance (and the last place you want to be in a lightning storm is this place!) but we were eager to capture some lovely silhouette images. Lindsay, again, delivered some incredible poses and she looked absolutely stunning against the dramatic sunset behind her.

Four days later and I am still in awe of this session. It was lovely in countless ways but what really brought me joy was how well Lindsay and I clicked (it felt like we were old friends), the brilliant skies that Mother Nature gave us, and the overall spiritual experience this was. As a photographer I get to do incredible things regularly but trust me - they are never wasted on me and each moment that I get to share with someone in front of my lens is a moment that I will treasure for the rest of my life and this session is no exception.

Lindsay, thank you so much for working with me and I look forward to our new friendship! I am so grateful we met and I am absolutely in awe of your talent and your spirit!
