It was a whopping 10 degrees for their session, but for Emma and Cody, this is just the perfect way to document their story!
If you're thinking that they look familiar, it's because I have worked with them many times before and their engagement session was also in a snow storm so when I say that yesterday's weather was perfect for this, I promise I am not crazy!
Anyone else I'm sure would reschedule their session but when I saw it was going to be cold and snowy with flurries all day, I was stoked and so was Emma. I arrived in snow boots, bib overalls, and way too much lip balm, ready to shoot! Emma was a trooper and wore her beautiful purple dress with a white shawl and honestly, you can't even tell she was freezing... but y'all - THE WIND. It was rough...
You know that wind that cuts down to your bones and feels like it freezes you form the inside out!? We fought that the entire hour-long session which, according to the weather channel, was offering up a nice wind chill of -15 degrees at the time of their session! Funny enough, I am pretty sure Cody and myself had a harder time with the cold than Emma - she wore her coat between shots, taking it off for up for five minutes at a time, and she even kept it on for a couple but after this session, when I think of the phrase "Do it for the 'gram", I'll be thinking of these two!
All in all, this session was really special to me because not only did I get to see Emma and Cody again, but watching them grow as a family has brought me an immense amount of joy. I know I say it all the time but this has to be my favorite part of this job - I get to witness so many clients-turned-friends celebrate their biggest milestones and it makes me feel like the luckiest little fly on the wall!!
Emma and Cody - I want to congratulate both of you again on your growing family! Tessa is already so loved and I can't wait to watch you all grow together!
