Back on November 6, I attended a gorgeous styled shoot put together by Laurel Francis at Busch Wildlife in Defiance, MO. In addition to working with a married brittany lynn imagery st charles mo photography family senior children lifestyle-4636 couple for wedding portraits (which you may check out here), I had the pleasure of working with a solo portrait model named Anna Chaika. Anna was dressed in a wonderfully trendy, boho dress by Piper and Scoot and held a simple and cute arrangement of greenery from Krista Florista, topping her entire get up with a charming hat as her main accessory. Her entire aesthetic was the perfect mix of indie and boho and I had the most lovely time working with her on the Pine Trail!

Once we wrapped up on the trail, we took off across the street to an open field sporting stunning fall foliage and open spaces, perfect for that creamy bokeh that I strive for! The field was such a simple yet beautiful location and we had the most dreamy sunset which set the mood for these brilliant Golden Hour images.

And let me just point out how simple her outfit is: her dress is a solid color along with her bouquet and she dresses it up so well with her hat! I know how easy it is to get swept away in the chaos of choosing a perfectly complex outfit but in all reality, all you need is a simple color palette and an accessory or two and your outfit can really bring out the important part of the entire image: YOU!

I know I have written about my love for styled shoots before and I have even done an entire video dedicated to the subject, but I just have to say again how awesome they are for so many reasons! Meeting like-minded people that share the same goals as you is always a great thing and I love an opportunity to build my portfolio and experiment with new techniques and equipment on non-paying clients. I think it is fair to say that this styled shoot was a great success for everyone involved and I want to give a huge thanks for Laurel for putting it together and Anna, our portrait model, for being so great to work with!
