On September 28, Melissa and Ben got married at the gorgeous Old Hickory Golf Club in St. Peters, MO and I am STILL swooning!
The weather was perfect and the skies were beautiful which made the day just that much more wonderful! Melissa was such a stunning bride and the joy on her face throughout the entire day was one of love and happiness! She was definitely one of the most joyful brides I have ever seen!!
The ceremony was short and sweet and then it was time to gt the party started! Melissa and Ben were super excited to celebrate with their friends and family so we quickly went through the formals and had a great time with their couples' portraits and then it was time to start the reception!!
One thing that keeps us wedding photographers on our toes is the timeline. We had to go so quickly from the formals to the reception that my second and I had no time to get our lighting set up and ready for the entrance, cake cutting, and toast so we had to set our cameras up to capture these moments without supplemental lighting and let me tell you, that is nerve wracking! Luckily, our equipment is more than ready to take on situations like this so while we didn't get to light them exactly how I wanted, they still looked lovely and going through them had me smiling ear to ear!!
Their cake was AWESOME and was a beautiful white cake with Yahtzee cups and dice on the top and Yahtzee writing all over the sides and it fit them perfectly!!
Before the meal started, we listened to Melissa's father dote on the couple, the Maid of Honor and Best Man deliver hilarious and heart felt speeches, and then - my absolute favorite part - Melissa's grandfather gave the blessing just before the food was served and Melissa and Ben enjoyed their first meal as a married couple with their friends and family!
This wedding was such a beautiful event and both myself and my husband - my second shooter for the day - were in awe. We were honored to have been a part of this day and we are so happy for Melissa and Ben. They are such a joyous couple and watching them come together in marriage was such a blessing!
Congratulations to the both of you - we wish you the absolute best that life has to offer!!
