I was beyond excited to work with Matt, Michelle, and Everlee again and to finally meet Wyatt who turned one this past week! To celebrate this awesome birthday, we did a fun family portrait session at DuSable Park in St. Charles that ended with a yummy cake smash for Wyatt (and Everlee, too, of course!).

As always (or at least I try), this session took place during Golden Hour so we got to play in that stunning light that we all have to come love! We started off down the path where I got to chat with Everlee as we shot and let me tell you - she is the sweetest and funniest little girl! When she was born, I had the honor of doing her newborn photos so to see her all grown up three years later was so special to me! She is a HAM!!

I had such a great time playing with her and Wyatt and capturing some sweet images of the two of them interacting with each other. Wyatt didn't seem to find me too entertaining but when his big sister Everlee came around, his smiles were abundant! I had fun prompting Everlee and we got to play around a lot as I had her do all kinds of activities from drawing shapes on Wyatt's cheek to running up on her parents to scare them!

As always, though, the kiddos got bored of photos and were ready for the grand finale: CAKE!!

We walked back up the trail and, after playing in a field of dandelions, we laid out a blanket and let them dive in. Wyatt wasn't shy at all and he dug right in, getting icing all over his fingers and face and once he made a pretty good dent in it, Everlee got to join in and enjoy her favorite part of the whole day: the sprinkles!

This session was full of fun, laughter, and special moments between these two siblings and I am so grateful that I got to be there for it!
