An Art Experience in Kansas City

There are plenty of BYOB paint parties in every city but there is one that stands out from the rest and I am so excited that it exists! Art Experience at the Mod Gallery in Kansas City, MO at 1809 McGee is just what the name boasts: an experience. Here, not only do you create a work of art that you get to take home, but you get to have a total artist experience and peek into a day in the life of an artist. The class instructor and painter, Richard Fritz, does an excellent job of explaining the process and making sure you fully understand it. As a newly engaged bride-to-be and someone actively looking for an awesome place to have a bachelorette party, this place is pinging my radar!

My favorite part about Art Experience is that it's not just paintings. Richard also instructs classes creating wooden signs with beautiful calligraphy and they are stunning! I keep finding myself fantasizing about a trip to Kansas City with friends just to walk around downtown and attend a fun class, eat some yummy snacks, sip wine, and create an awesome piece that is a little more complex than what you're used to getting from these classes. I mean, that's what artists do, right!?

I had the honor of sitting in on two different classes this past weekend and both of the classes were completely different from each other but Rich did a fantastic job of making sure everyone understood what they were doing and left with a piece that they truly loved.

The first class was a morning group of seven women and we had a blast! They had such fun energy and throughout the class enjoyed themselves sipping wine, singing and dancing to music, and painting some beautiful wine glasses (that turned out AMAZING, by the way!). Then, the second group was a birthday celebration and baby shower wrapped into one with a count of 26 people! Both groups had a blast and Richard was very consistent with his teaching methods and creating an experience that catered to each group but also remained consistent with the Art Experience. I am thoroughly impressed and I hope that you get a chance to make it to one of these classes and enjoy it as much as I did!

P.S. With the holidays right around the corner (okay, they're basically here!), look no further for a fun and unique holiday party or something to do with friends and family in town - you can host a holiday painting party! Your ticket is FREE with 15 or more people and that is a gift worth giving and receiving!
