When a family as sweet and gorgeous as The Ryans wants you to do their family portraits, you jump at that opportunity!

Alyssa contacted me on Instagram about doing doing their family portraits in their home and I was terribly ecstatic because the weather was drab that month and no one was wanting to have photos done because everyone loves those outdoor images (and I don't blame them!). Here in Missouri, we survived four major snow storms and obnoxiously cold weather and with my busy season right around the corner, I was anxious to get an early start!

When I arrived at the Ryans' home, I was in awe of how beautifully styled their entire space appeared. Every single room looked like they had hired a professional to come in and get it photo-ready and I was taken aback by the natural lighting throughout the space!

Leading up to their session, Alyssa and I had talked about the importance of natural lighting throughout the home and so we worked together to time their session at the moment the light was to be the brightest thorughout the home. Shooting indoors is quite different than outdoors and Golden Hour is rarely your friend in these situations (and if you are one of the lucky few whose home looks incredible during Golden Hour, I am insanely jealous and also... I'd love to shoot there!) so we timed this session for noon that day and it worked out splendidly. I also shared with her a post about preparing your home for a lifestlye session, which you can check out here and between the lighting, the absence of clutter, and a few beautiful decorations like fresh cut flowers (which she did all on her own), their home was photo-ready and we were able to have one of my favorite lifestyle sessions to date!

We moved effortlessly from room to room and created some fun and memorable images for them to have forever and I left with a full heart and a huge smile!
