An Alice in Wonderland Styled Wedding with Jewels Gray | Brittany Lynn Imagery LLC

I was so insanely excited to attend Shutterfest at the Union Station Hotel in St. Louis, MO for my first time and let me tell you - it did NOT disappoint!

Knowing I'd be experiencing two days worth of education, I wanted to get some fun shooting in and when Jewels Gray posted her Alice in Wonderland inspiration board for this year's styled shoot, I knew that I had to attend her styled shoot!

Traveling all the way from Denver CO with a trailer full of items, Jewels put together a stunning Alice in Wonderland themed Styled Shoot in the courtyard at the Union Station Hotel and it was certainly an experience for the detail-oriented Alice in Wonderland fan (let me just say that I did name my cat Absilom after the caterpillar)!

Now this is the part of the post where I would proceed to tell you my favorite detail and go on and on about it commending the designer and vendors but honestly... I can't. This styled shoot was so thoughtfully planned out and every single detail was purposeful and paid homage to the story.

To start, our bride and groom were Alice Pleasance and Charles Lutwidge. Now for some background information to those of you who aren't obsessed: Alice Pleasance Liddel is the little girl who inspired the name of the main character Lewis Carroll's story and Charles Lutwidge Dodgson was Lewis Carroll's real name - how is THAT for some details!?

Another awesome detail (that Jewels had to point out, embarrassingly) was the charm on the bouquet. When someone close to the married couple passes away, some brides choose to have their photo in a charm on the bouquet as a memorial and as a way to still have loved ones present. For this styled shoot, Jewels Gray included a photo of Lewis Carroll on Alice's bouquet as a memorial to the author who wrote the story that inspired this entire shoot and I was completely blown away by that detail.

I know, I know - you expected a hookah. So did I.

And I was pleasantly appeased when THEY HAD ONE!

Paying homage to Absilom, the set featured a beautiful couch and an end table adorned with a beautiful, black hookah and a sign that read "Curiouser and curiouser!". The couple didn't actually smoke it, of course, but Jewels did bring some smoke bombs to play with and that was even better!

But like I said, this shoot was one for the detail oriented! The groom's cuff links were White Rabbits (well, golden Rabbits but figures of the White Rabbit), Alice's dress was a pale blue, not the traditional white or even ivory, the table was set for the most luxurious tea party, and even the chairs at the table resembled the chairs from the infamous tea party with the Mad Hatter and the March Hare! The tea set at the table was a beautiful pale pink and featured images of the story characters and some of the cups even had "Drink Me" written on the inside!

The other tables had some more features such as the tempting "Drink Me" and "Eat Me" signage paired with DELICIOUS looking drinks and snacks and our Alice wore some adorable striped socks under her dress that brought the story full circle.

I think it's pretty obvious: this styled shoot is hands-down my favorite one I've attended so far! I'm a sucker for details and extra points go to them if they're sentimental and this session was FULL of them!

Jewels, thank you so much for your hard work on this shoot and your clever mind for making it such a special occasion! It kind of feels like it was a real wedding because of how happy I am about it! You were such a treat to work with and I am so happy to have met you!
